UR CS Club Minutes from September 23, 1999

Programming Contest:
  The Programming Contest will start this semester with CS150 students.  Advertising 
     will start immediatly following fall break, and the contest will start the week 
     after fall break.
  It will run for three weeks, with students having their choice of the six problems.
  An awards cermony/Pizza Party will be held at the conclusion and the winner(s) will 
     receive a gift certificate from Ukrops
  ACM membership and sponsorship was discussed, but due to our small number of members, 
     it will not be pursued.

Events:
  Laser Tag:
    Laser Tag has been postponed due to lack of advertising.  It is hoped that we can 
       go later in the semester.  It will be announced on the flyers for the Programming 
       Contest.

  Speakers:
    Dr. Greenfield will be speaking on October 21st.
    Dr. Bax has agreed to speak in November.

  UnReal Tounament:
    A UnReal Tournament will be held in the Cyber-Lounge of Jepson Hall.  Extensive 
       testing of the computers there was performed by Blake, Chris, and Nathaniel.  
       The computers were found to run the game quite well.  We know how to set up a 
       server and configure most of the controls.

The Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 7th at 4:00PM in Jepson 213.
